In the beginning there was nothing except two brothers — an older brother and a younger brother. The older brother valued peace and quiet, so he made it that there continued to be nothing.
For eons the two lived in this nothingness and the older brother was content. One day the younger brother said, "I want change. I want excitement. I want something."
The older brother rebuked him, "No. With change comes disorder and eventually suffering." The younger brother did not abide, he clapped his hands and there was something.
The older brother was irate. "What you have done is irreversible, but I will fix it."
Billions of years later, there was life, entropy, emotion, change — all these inherited the will of the younger brother.
There was also death, stasis, the ever expanding and impending heat death of the universe — all of which inherited the will of the older brother.
